Vishal Group recently came into spotlight when expired chocolates, chips and biscuits were caught in the market of Nepal and their expiry dates were relabelled. As we all know, consuming expired food products is extremely harmful to health especially during this time when people are taking the best care of their health die to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now let’s understand the whole Vishal group news and how they got involved in this? And are they even the real culprit (my opinion)?

Vishal Group News

Vishal group is one of the most reputed conglomerates of Nepal engaged in wide array of business sectors — Banking & Finance, Manufacturing, Distribution, Education, Automobile and Social Business. Apart from being one of the major contributors of the society by being one of the top taxpayers of Nepal and by providing huge employment in the country, Vishal group Nepal is also known for being extensively associated with social works. During the lockdown, they selflessly donated a sum of Rs 1 crore to the government and also distributed Covid-19 safety essentials like N95 masks, sanitizers and PPE kits to many hospitals all around Nepal. They employ over 24000 people globally and even provided employment opportunities to people during the lockdown when many have lost their jobs and were helpless. The conglomerate has also received several awards for their social works, one of the most reputed one being Prabal Jansewa Shree Award which was received by the Vice President of the group, Mr. Tulsi Ram Agrawal.

In light of the Vishal group news, the group made it clear long back that they are not at all linked with any sort of scam and they were just responsible for the import of those products. Whatever happened later, they have no idea about it. Still, Vishal group is keeping a keen watch on the supply system of their imported goods so as to restrict the flow of expired products in the market, if there are any.

To conclude, on my opinion I don’t feel that Vishal group Nepal is involved in the food relabelling scam as they have made so much contributions towards the society previously and even made their best effort to take care of the country during lockdown. We need to stay calm during this time and from my end, Vishal group has my full support.
